Combat in Build and Conquer is described in one paragraph on the experience page, then shown in one missile tutorial. This page keeps those two sources apart so a spoken tactic is not mistaken for a rule.
What the experience promises
After you research technology and manufacture vehicles and missiles, you can:
- Deploy troops through tunnels to the mainland
- Form alliances
- Defend your cities
- Fight other nations for strategic areas
No alliance button, tunnel cost, nation limit, or strategic-area list is published. The server cap of 8 is the closest public limit on how many players share a session. It does not say that all 8 are hostile nations.
How the tutorial fought
The 30 September 2026 demonstration is a player method, not a developer manual.
- Spread tanks out instead of stacking them on one point.
- Use a HIMARS to check for enemy movement, then fire when something is there.
- If nobody is in the field, change servers or ask another player to fight.
- Expect other missiles to be intercepted. The narrator treated the high-climbing hypersonic shot as the one with a better chance to land.
- Building damage was possible, and it was harder when the defender had several anti-missile weapons.
He also said he felt bad and planned to give the attacked player money for repairs. The video does not show a gift button completing that payment. Do not assume a repair-gift command exists.
Defense choices you can actually make
Until stats exist, choose by job:
| Job | What is known | Unknown |
|---|---|---|
| Hold the city | The description tells you to defend cities. Anti-missile weapons appear in the tutorial. | Range, ammo, power cost, and whether Iron Dome is a building or a nickname. |
| Kill ground units for missile quests | The narrator called ground units the easier quest route and brought tanks plus one HIMARS. | Required kill count and whether tanks or HIMARS count differently. |
| Strike buildings | Building destruction was a second quest route and a way to pressure another player. | Building health and which city pieces can be targeted. |
| Reach the mainland | Troops deploy through tunnels. | Where the tunnel is built and what it costs. |
| Share a war | Alliances are named. | How to send an invite and what an ally can do on your plot. |
A fight that does not erase the country
The official sentence is still the best rule: a strong economy wins wars, and a strong military protects what you built. If a loss removes factories or power plants, replace those before you launch the next missile. Production and research are how vehicles and missiles are manufactured. A city with no power or no workers cannot be assumed to keep building an army.
Places involved in the move from plot to war are on Places. Missile names are on Units.
